The Russia–Africa Youth Forum will be held in Moscow
With the support of Roscongress Foundation and the Endowment of MGIMO-University, the Russia–Africa Youth Forum will be held at MGIMO-University from October 28 to 29, 2026, as part of the 3rd Russia–Africa Summit. The forum is a unique platform that promotes cooperation between Russia and African countries and is designed to consolidate the progressive dynamics of the multifaceted Russia–Africa partnership, as well as to identify the prospects for its development in the coming years. The events are aimed at fostering dialogue between the youth of Russia and Africa, promoting African studies, and advancing a positive image of Russia on the continent. The program will involve Russian and African officials, key representatives of the business and expert communities, development institutions, and the media.
“Russian‑African friendship and partnership have a long history. In the last century, our country genuinely supported Africans’ struggle for freedom and independence. Today, developing relations with African countries is among our absolute priorities. Africa is the continent of the future. And the future is shaped by youth. This fully applies to foreign policy as well,” noted Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The event plan is designed to explore the key aspects of Russian‑African cooperation through open discussions, round tables, lectures, and world cafes. Cultural events are planned to allow participants to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Africa, to experience its diversity and colour.
For the first time, the event will include a meeting of the Russian‑African Youth Association (RAYA) – a platform that will bring together Russian and African youth organizations for dialogue and joint activities aimed at developing partnership, mutual understanding, and creating a shared positive vision of the future world order.
As part of the Youth Forum, the 5th Forum “Russia – Africa: What’s Next?” and the 2nd Forum of Young Diplomats will also be held. For the first time, the Forum of Young Diplomats, implemented with the support of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian MFA, took place in spring 2025 on the sidelines of the 4th Forum “Russia – Africa: What’s Next?”.
