Official Website of Russia–Africa Summit and Economic Forum Sustains DDoS Attack

Experts from the Roscongress Foundation along with Federal Security Service officers detected repeated attempts to disrupt the normal operation of the official website of the Russia–Africa Summit and Economic Forum throughout the day on 23 October.

Attempts were made to guess the password of the SSH, find vulnerabilities on the web server, and upload malicious software to it. A sharp increase in traffic to the website was observed starting from 15:05, which indirectly indicates a DDoS attack on the server.

The website’s infrastructure demonstrated its effectiveness and reliability. The website of the Russia–Africa Summit and Economic Forum is operating normally without any interruptions. There have not been any successful unauthorized breaches.

“We highly value the results of our joint work at the summit. I am sure the achieved results are creating a good foundation for further deepening the Russia-Africa partnership in the interests of our nations’ prosperity and wellbeing.”
