Russia and Namibia agree to strengthen political and economic ties
Russia and Namibia have confirmed their intention
to deepen political and diplomatic relations and expand trade and economic
cooperation, per an announcement made following a meeting between Minister of
Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov
and Minister of International Relations and Trade of Namibia Selma Ashipala-Musavyi on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial
Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum. The Conference is being
organized by the Roscongress Foundation on the Russian side.
“We see potential for
increasing mutually beneficial cooperation and deepening political dialogue
with Namibia,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian
Federation commented.
During the talks, the parties discussed further steps to strengthen friendly ties between the two countries, emphasizing their commitment to developing bilateral relations in politics, economics, trade, investment, and humanitarian affairs.
The Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum is taking place in Cairo on 19–20 December 2025.
