TASS, leading Zimbabwean news agency sign memorandum on cooperation

The agreement establishes a basis for bilateral cooperation in information exchange, training and mutual visits of staff delegations.

TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov and Rangarirai Shoko, the CEO of Zimbabwe’s New Ziana News Agency, signed the memorandum on cooperation on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa Media Forum.

The signed agreement provides a basis for bilateral cooperation in the sphere of information exchange, staff training and mutual visits of staff delegations.

The New Ziana News Agency is owned by the Zimbabwe Mass Media Trust, a joint-stock company in which the state holds a majority stake. The agency publishes eight regional company newspapers.

The second Russia-Africa Media Forum is being held on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa Summit taking place in St. Petersburg on July 27-28. Similar to the first such summit in 2019, the event is being held under the rubric "For Peace, Security and Development." The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
